Lumibricks Wild West Meeting Hall 14016: A Frustration-Free Frontier Build

There's something about the Lumibricks Old West theme. It still feels like Funwhole to me. It's one of the few themes that has remained true to some of the early designs that made me love the brand. Don't get me wrong, I love that they continue to innovate, but I do find myself missing the old F.O from time to time. Stickers, bad wire management and all! That's why I enjoy building sets from the Old West theme so much. It's brick nostalgia!

At 2,556 pieces, the Wild West Meeting Hall sits in the comfortable mid-size range. This was an easy and enjoyable build with a few quirks.

The standout moment is early on, when you assemble the mechanism that lets you pull the entire ground-floor interior out from the back to swap scenes. It's more clever than I expected and a lot of fun to put together.

Lumibricks designed it as a 2-in-1. You rotate the seats and swap a few accessory pieces, and the space flips between a wedding setup and a town-hall gathering. There are two lighting modes, and you toggle between them with a touch control. It's very innovative.

It's a great-looking set that stays true to the theme without overdoing it. The lighting is subtle. There are 10 LED points, mostly warm orange. There's just enough to set the mood without turning the building into a light show. The wire management is excellent.

I do have a few small criticisms, though none are dealbreakers. The green pulsating light on the ground behind the cacti is just odd. I'm honestly not sure what it's going for. And while the interior chandelier looks great, I wish it lit up with everything else. Instead, you have to remove the roof and use a touch sensor to turn it on, and I'd rather have the whole set lit at once. Lastly, I do enjoy the storytelling element, but sometimes I don't need a birthday party or a wedding. I just want a cool looking building with lights, modularity, and displayability.

Quirks aside, this is a really nice set and an easy one to recommend. It looks fantastic on the shelf, especially next to other Old West builds, and it came together without a single headache. I'm happy to add it to my collection.

Notes

• A few interesting techniques are included throughout the build to help your minifigs sit.
• One of the more interesting building techniques is the way a picture is hung on the wall on the interior (see picture below). This was something I had not seen before.
• I believe this is the second appearance of the bearded lady — originally from the Traveling Circus!
• The horse and carriage is a very nice side build. And I always appreciate when a turkey is included in a set. 🤣
• I wish there was somewhere to place the meeting table while in wedding mode.
• It would be simple to remove the wedding-themed dining scene from the side of the building if it's not to your taste.
