Pantasy Bavarian Tavern Review: One of Their Best Yet

I recently built Pantasy’s upcoming modular release, the Bavarian Tavern, and I have to say it is one of Pantasy's best designs. It is a beautiful set with plenty of detail, but it feels refined, not over the top.

The first floor is the main tavern and has a good amount of detail in and around the bar. There is also a small bathroom under the stairs with a great print on the wall.

The second floor has a stage and a small table, chairs, and a lamp. At first, I thought it felt a little sparse. The stage could use a bit more detail, and while the opening wall includes shelves and bottles, there is a large empty space in front of them. I feel like there should be a small bar there. It seemed like a missed opportunity. By the time I finished the build, the layout felt perfect, so I am not sure I would actually change it. I will be interested to hear what others think.

The third floor is my favorite. It is a kitchen with a fantastic overhead light. There are quite a few loose bakery items, but they stay put on the shelves and in the oven, so it is a non-issue for me.

The set is fully modular, and the floors separate easily. The redesigned power connectors between floors are excellent. I definitely did not miss peeling adhesive backing off the older connectors and sticking them to plates.

The roof is an easy build. One side is noticeably more detailed than the other, and both sections lift off easily to reveal the third floor.

There are two opening walls, one on the side and one on the back. I assume this was done to give more display options. I currently have mine connected to the Sherlock Holmes modular.

The exterior is the best part of the set. The lamppost, the picnic table with chairs, and the tavern itself all look so good. The printed windows, flowers, and all the details are very well done.

I think there are 10 lights, but I may be off by one or two. Overall, the lighting was easy to work with. The only challenge I had was plugging in a few lights on the second floor, mostly because I have big hands and the space is tight. I also knocked over the table more times than I can count since it is attached with a single stud.

All of the lights use the same warm yellow color, which I prefer over bright white lighting. The wire management is well thought out. The set is USB powered, although you do have to press a button to turn the lights on each time, which is not ideal for my display.

The interior spaces are tight, but accessible and well lit. I also would not want to lose any of the outdoor detail just to make the interior larger.

Overall, I really enjoyed this build. It has a good variety of parts, and it never felt like a 3,000-plus-piece set. I did find one piece that was the wrong color, but I replaced it from my spare parts. Then the piece ended up completely covered, so it was not a big deal.

This is a solid 9/10 for me. I think if I liked the second floor a little more and I did not have to press a button to turn the lights on, it would be a 10/10.
